Top 2 Blogger Exposes the Truth About Successful Blogging

Top 2 Blogger Exposes the Truth About Successful BloggingSo you’ve heard about the big money being earned by those at the top of the “Blogging Tree”…

…and you want a piece of the action, huh?

More power to you…

Now, I’m not about to do the popular “guru” thing of bursting your bubble, and telling you making money blogging is “too hard,” or “too competitive nowadays”…

…but I do need to be totally honest with you.

I was recently voted #2 blogger on the internet, so please pay close attention.

Blogging for a living is a long-term strategy, and very hard. If you’re looking for a fast buck or overnight riches, then unfortunately I’m going to have to rain on your parade.

The big earners you read about had to fight pretty hard to get where they are today.

That said, there is big money in blogging if you’re prepared to put in the time and effort required. You also need to think outside the box, and diversify your ideas.

Here are a few pointers to get all you future blogging superstars started:

1. Incorporate Learning and Take Action

One of the biggest downfalls of wanna-be bloggers is the fact that they become entangled in the “shiny object syndrome.” If you are guilty of buying every new product that promises you quick riches, then it’s time you got a dose of realism.

Learning is very important for your growth as a blogger and marketer. So you need to commit to buying quality products from marketers you trust.

Having said this, it’s imperative you also take action on the things you learn.

Implement them into your DMO (Daily Method of Operation). The key to not becoming overwhelmed with information is to plan your action steps.

Do things step-by-step rather than trying to do it all at once and then becoming burned out with information overload – a common point of failure.

“Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins.” ~ Jim Rohn

2. It’s Not Just About Creating Content

Whilst some experts will have you believe that all you need to do to “make it” is plaster your blog with endless amounts of thin content, I’m here to tell you; unfortunately it’s not as easy as that.

Your content has to be helpful and informative, but also needs to be long enough to warrant being picked up by the search engines. 100-word posts about things like how long you had to queue in the grocery store are not going to land you many visitors if your blog is about starting and building a home business.

Once you have thousands of loyal readers then sure, give them the odd day-to-day tidbit, but at the start you need to offer something a little more substantial.

That’s not all. See:

You can work your butt off creating and promoting your content, however there’s something you need to consider… Keep reading!

3. Don’t Forget to Network

You’ve probably heard it before, but I’ll say it again. When you’re starting out, networking is vital to your growth.

Meeting other bloggers with related interests and a large following will open many more doors than you can imagine. Whilst building your own blog is important, don’t forget the power of giving content to others.

Networking is what propelled many of the 6-figure bloggers to where they are now.

You can start by entering the Blog Engage contest so you can win a free membership and engage with other bloggers.

4. Think Multiple Income Streams

Here’s a little “outside the box” idea to consider. In fact, this will make ALL the difference for you, if you want to make money blogging, starting today.

Creating and promoting content like crazy without multiple income streams in place?

Instead of writing dozens of articles relating to different products and services, why not plug your readers into a marketplace or store that provides multiple items they really NEED to build successful blogs and businesses.

Top 2 Blogger Exposes the Truth About Successful Blogging

This way you’ll save time, make more money, and not have to write tons of different affiliate reviews. You’ll often find that readers will make more than one purchase at a time.

Think how many things you just drop into your basket when you visit the grocery store in your neighbourhood.

I bet you didn’t plan on buying half of it!

This sort of income generator works well for most markets, and it’s a great way of making a few thousand dollars whilst you build traffic to your blog.

You just need to plug your readers into this store and let them make their purchases such as domain names, hosting providers, auto responders, social media tools and more.

The good news is, these are the tried and best tools and resources which are highly recommended by the marketing and blogging experts. They have sifted through much of what is out there, so you don’t have to!

And, even more exciting – you don’t need to build this store yourself. It’s plug and play! Top 2 Blogger Exposes the Truth About Successful Blogging

Key Takeaway

I can’t tell you how much of a difference these tips alone will make to your growth. Like I said, I’m not going to tell you making the big bucks with a blog is impossible because it isn’t.

But it does take time and a vast amount of work! So, get ahead of the pack and tap into an opportunity with multiple income streams.

You can work your butt off creating and promoting your content, however if you do NOT have an income generating machine or store in place, you will NOT get anywhere. Harsh but true.

Bottom line: plug your readers into a marketplace or store that provides multiple items they really NEED to build successful blogs and businesses. That will help them achieve success at a high speed and put money in your pocket DAILY.

It can’t get better than that!

Your Turn:

  • How’s blogging going for you?
  • How are you generating income?
  • What do you think of plugging your readers into a store?

Hi Mavis,

thanks for your plain text that blogging for a living is very hard. It’s also critical to realize and understand that blogging is not just about creating content. There’s so much to do behind the scenes in terms of promoting, for example, is it not ?

Take care

Hi Mavis,

What many ignore is this: simple works best. Which is why many struggle.

Simple is powerful. Writing keyword rich articles is powerful. Not doing so makes things difficult.

The magic formula is doing simple things like adding value and making strong connections EACH DAY.Not every other day. Not once a week. Each day, with a day off here and there.

Some who say your steps sound too simple to work are struggling, because these same folks are either lazy or are trying some insane, over the top complex system to drive leads and make money online.

Study successes. All people do simple acts, successful acts, day after day after day. Eventually, their break comes. Their discipline brings them awesome opportunities. All because they kept it simple and persisted with the basic, proven strategies which make successful people more successful.

Work, work, and work some more. Some days, you might feel a little uncomfortable working. Keep doing it. Some days, work will feel more fun. Keep doing it. If you want to write 1 blog post, but feel like you can write 2, write 2. Follow your inspiration. You can put the 2nd post on ice for a day or 2, or simply post 2 in 1 day. Just keep working through thick and thin and good things happen.

Congrats on your sessions Mavis. Keep up the great work/play :)

hey Mavis, thanks for this insightful post. I see a lot of people focus so much on putting out massive content that they forget to take the time to promote that content. Often the sites that succeed aren’t the ones with the most or even the best content, but the ones that do the best networking to get people in front of their content.

I plan to do more networking this year and focus on building my brand more, as well as taking my business more seriously so that I can increase my income to a more comfortable level.

Hi Mavis,

Thanks for shedding some light on the myth “Have Blog – Will Accept Your Money.” Many people who start out blogging think it’s just like that, when in fact, it is NOT! You’re right, it’s hard!

There are many parts to blogging and writing valuable content is just one of them. A big part is how you point out …networking with like-minded bloggers in your niche.

And then there is learning, learning, learning (from a great teacher like you) and then …implementing what you’ve learned. Because without implementation you’re at a standstill.

Thanks so much for always sharing terrific content!

Some much needed reality here. I think anyone starting out wanting to make passive income from blogging would be disappointed for at least the first year.

However, there’s more to blogging than passive income. You can use your income to attract business – like writing, design, marketing work, whatever! It’s active income but it may fill the gap before you get the other streams up and running.

Hey Mavis,

Great Tips here!

For me, I was never serious with making money blogging (so, I wasn’t really consistent with my old blog – that’s why I started a new one – and gave a stronger focus on networking with others and getting a little more serious about blogging).

I have made most of the money through freelance writing and through sponsored reviews writing. I hope to continue freelance writing while putting a lot more effort into making money through my blog – through affiliate marketing and stuff :D

Your blog will certainly be useful :D

And congrats on being selected as the 2nd best MLM blogger :-)

Hey Mavis,

Just found your blog, and I really like it!

Well you asked how we are generating income – for me, the best strategy so far is using affiliate links to websites that pay for leads. For example, hotels, insurance, etc. I am trying direct sales now, such as deals, hotel packages and tours, will see how this works out. I have never heard about “plugging readers into a store”, are you planning on writing another article about it by chance?

In fact my website was ranked 10million at the time. This morning it ranked 283K. Let’s see how I can turn that into more success…

On a side note my photography and graphics work has taken an upswing too all because of my blogging. You always have to diversify :)

Mavis these are great tips. I like your point about doing things step by step. I think that we can all get bogged down with research and learning – but not so much of the doing. It is critical to make the doing at least 80% of your work day and taking action.
