Are you ready for the challenge?...
Are you ready to make 2011 your best year ever? Have you set yourself goals of what you want to achieve in your life and business? This is the time to reflect on what has worked and what has not in the past year. And you should be raring to go, excited about your journey to massive success this year!
Truth be told, it’s very easy to write down your goals, isn’t it? Anybody can do it. But, how many people actually follow through their goals and ensure that they achieve them to the very last detail? Often times, people get so excited about the new year and what they are going to do and then hit a brick-wall. Why?
Firstly, they don’t take action, they let their goals sit on the shelf and gather dust. Secondly, their goals were probably not SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Tangible) in the first place.
Let me explain what I mean…
“Make money online” or “Make more money” is one of the popular goals, however without specifics, this goal may not be achievable. It’s important to be clear about what you want to accomplish and set the target date. For example, “I want to make $10,000 by the end of March” would be your primary goal.
The next step would be to formulate sub-goals, if you like. This is where you specify the action steps you’re going to take to make $10,000 after a 90-day period. For example, investing in personal development, focusing on one or two marketing strategies, being more productive, masterminding with like-minded individuals… you get the idea
Now, although your goals should be realistic, you still need to step out of your comfort zone and aim higher. If you want to grow as an entrepreneur and person and build a profitable business, then you need to push yourself, challenge yourself. This is what will change your life in a very big way.
Speaking of challenges, I have just committed to one… more about this in a bit…
I recently shared with you Why I Became Involved In Online Marketing. My goal, my “Why”, is my family. I’m doing what I’m doing for my lovely and supportive husband and our beautiful daughters. I’m on a mission to grow my business by leaps and bounds.
I’m insanely passionate about blogging. One of my business goals is to take my blog to a whole new level this year. I’m going to put all the stops to make this happen.
So, the Clever Marketer Prove It! Challenge 2011, initiated by my good friend and fellow blogger, Heather Stephens, couldn’t have come at the perfect time! This will be a great opportunity to grow my blog. And you can too!
Here are the details:
Prove It! Challenge Dates:
- Monday, 10 January 2011 to Friday, 15 April 2011.
- Winners will be announced over at CleverMarketer.com on Friday, 22 April 2011.
Prove It! Challenge Requirements: 70 Unique Pieces of High Value Content by April 15th!
- Create 70 pieces of unique high-value content before April 15th. That is only 1 piece of content each day, for 5 days a week. You can even take the weekends or 2 days off each week! (You should have balance in your life as well as a thriving business!)
- The content has to be unique and created by you between the dates of 10 January 2011 and 15 April 2011.
- Blog content has to be a minimum of 150 words (even if it includes a video or podcast) and must be PG or G rated.
- Your unique content can include videos, blog posts, pod casts, etc.
- Guest posts on other blogs are allowed and encouraged. They are a great way to get more traffic to your own blog.
- No sales letters, or spam type posts will be allowed.
For more information on how to join and the cool prizes for the winners, head over to Heather’s blog, Clever Marketer.
Thank you so much Heather for this clever idea! We’re going to have an amazing time!
Over to you: Well, I don’t know about you, but I have joined the Prove It Challenge. I’m on a mission to make things happen in my business. “If you take no action, nothing will happen” and “If you aim at nothing, you’ll accomplish nothing”. It’s really your choice.
On that note, I would like to share with you a brief but inspirational video below, created by my business partner, Lena Bjorna and her hubby. Enjoy and stay focused on your goals and aspirations!

Anyone with a new blog can benefit greatly from a challenge like this. I’ve only started my blog last month, and because of my posting of content every day, I’m getting traffic faster than most people who have started their blogs around the same time I did.
If anyone needs help thinking of topics for content, just browse around the net and ask your mentors any questions or just ask them for advice. Then simply put what you’ve learned on a blog post and you are already sharing value.
Great Post!

New year is indeed a new start to a new life, yet we sometimes forgot to set what are the most important goals we should carry on first before acting it. Challenges comes along and blocks our ways yet we should keep going and break that wall that hinders us from passing through.
Indeed! We should keep going, no matter what comes our way.
Thanks for the visit and comment.
All the best,
Mavis

Hi Fouad,
Thanks for putting a smile on my face
Great to see you here.
Much success to you,
Mavis
Hi Mavis,
Congrats on taking the challenge
Great point about goals being specific. Your mind won’t respond to vague wishes. Saying that you want to get out of debt of make enough money to be comfortable doesn’t cut it. If you don’t know what you want how could you ever get it? That’s why most don’t reach their goals: they don’t have goals or their goals are iffy at best. Iffy desires don’t move one into action.
Set clear and definite goals that push the limits of your comfort zone. As a rule of thumb, when I set goals I must have no idea of how to reach that goal. That’s my starting point. From there, I’m forced to do things I’ve never done which of course results in my living a new and exciting life each day.
Thanks for sharing your inspiration Mavis.
