Prospecting – Master It Or Stay Broke!

Prospecting Master It Or Stay Broke!

Master Prospecting and Explode Your Bank Account!

In the network marketing world, you can’t just sit behind your computer and expect to achieve great results. In contrary, the network marketing empires and the large downlines are not built completely through the internet.

The successful network marketers have one thing in common – they know how to network with their prospects. It has to be this way if you’re serious about building a network marketing empire and seeing any type of retention within your organisation.

One of the reasons why most network marketers fail in their businesses, is that they dont know how to network, they simply cannot connect and they don’t know how to prospect. They often over-think about what they are going to say and continue to struggle to handle the phone conversation, especially the initial one.

Prospecting is NOT that hard, unless you make it hard. This is the most critical component of your network marketing business and will reflect on your bank account.

How do you present yourself? The key is to develop posture but be yourself and confident. Don’t be someone you’re not!

You need to come across as a leader and show them that you really care and want to help them get what they want and achieve success.

Your goal should be to build relationships, trust and respect and that will allow your prospects to sell themselves on your products and services without you twisting their arms to join or buy from you.

It’s important to prepare yourself before you speak to your prospects. You will need to have all the facts about your company, products, compensation plan and so forth.

But what if someone asks a question that you don’t know the answer to? Refer to my previous post: How To Handle Your Prospects’ Questions, where I give a detailed answer.

Remember prospecting is your core task. So learn how to be effective in it and attract qualified prospects and long-term customers into your business! Keep prospecting!

One of the reasons why most network marketers fail in their businesses, is that they dont know how to network, they simply cannot connect and they don’t know how to prospect. Are you one of them? Learn the art of prospecting!

Hey Mavis,

This is so true. You can't build your business if you are not connecting. It is important to know how to generate leads and connect with the leads. I see too many individuals scare to prospect. I don't know why? They need to read this post.

Chat with you later…

Hi Mavis,

That is so cool that you also wrote about prospecting today.

I totally agree with you. Being good at prospecting has a lot to do with doing the extraordinary things like reaching out to them and making a connection. I know, it's such a great idea. LOL

But you and I know that a lot of people never do this and they wonder why they aren't making any progress with prospecting. They have to connect if they ever want to get anybody new onto their team.

Thanks for sharing this…

Great tips Mavis! I love your point about being prepared before a call…not just with your product information but also details about the person you will be chatting with. If you have even a little bit of information about your prospect it's very effective to bring it up during your conversation. It leads to instant bonding. :)

Hi Mavis,

You're right, if you don't master prospecting you stay broke. We can't all be Daegan Smith. ;)

Love the photo, Mavis – what a great match for your post!

You are so very right about prospecting though: it's all about your mindset. Don't let your prospects do you a “favor” by talking to you – you are doing them a favor by introducing them to our business and your team.

Best,

Great post Mavis! Prospecting is an ongoing activity – you should always be on the lookout for opportunities to talk to people about what you do. If you aren't presented with any – then you need to make them!

Why network marketers have to make this hard, I don't know. Anyone in business for themselves needs to prospect…it doesn't matter if you're an electrician, plumber, landscape artist or a vacuum cleaner salesman umm…person, you always need to be on the lookout for new business.

Besides, if the prospect does not want to get into the business, they may well be interested in making use of the product as a customer, so you win anyway!

Stay inspired!
Michael

Hi Mavis,

prospecting should be a natural process. The better your front-up selection of people, the easier and more natural the process is at the end of the day. It starts with less rejection what reduces the emotional stress for newbies enormously.

Thanks for sharing your profound advice.

Take care

Hey Mavis,

Great post on prospecting, it is very crucial to network marketing and really any type of business you are in. I not only prospect by meeting people but also attract people by providing great content, the people that “like” or comment on the content are nnormally like minded individuals that take initiative. The last thing you want is a someone on your team that needs to be treated like a “frog” on a daily basis…. every time to touch the back of a frog they normally jump one or two times. You don't have time to “touch” your “frog” on a daily basis!

Hey Mavis

I like what Oliver stated “prospecting should be a natural process”, too many over think like you stated.

Of course the other is not to look at each person you start a conversation with as someone you want to recruit. First find out something about them (natural process) and based on that decide how to proceed.

Hi Mavis,

Just like most things in life prospecting is going to take practice for most people. the people that survive are the people that push through the fear, and do it anyway.

It's ok to suck. Everyone wants to be a concert pianist, but nobody wants to take piano lessons.

Do it, see what works, see what doesn't , do more of what works, and pretty soon you will be laughing with the old timers about what you were like in the beginning.

Take care,

Neil

Mavis,

This is part of the reason why I build my blog. Your list is critical but the icing on the cake is to send them to your blog, especially if you are building it the right way.

This makes you the complete network marketer and your prospects find out quickly that you are no joke when it comes to your business.

I always prepare myself before, even if a prospect calls, I may purposely ignore their phone call to make sure I have the information I need in front of me.

Thanks for sharing Mavis,

Tommy D.
