How to Handle the Initial Phone Conversation With Your Prospects

by Mavis Nong on July 27, 2009

How do you handle your first contact with your prospects? As you know, first impressions last but the key is to be yourself… don’t pretend to be someone you’re not!

You want to come across as a smart and sincere person and show your prospects that you really care. Your goal is to build long-lasting relationships and you don’t want to sound desperate pushing your own agenda forward. No sales pitch!!

You must realise that it’s all about them on the initial phone call. Make sure you introduce yourself properly. Find out a little bit about them and listen carefully to their responses, you may even want to write them down. Don’t interrupt them when they speak.

You also want to establish their goals and then schedule for another phone call to go through the step-by-step action plan.

So, the initial phone call is really about finding facts about your prospects and helping them get what they want.

Now get on the phone and connect with your prospects!

Helping your prospect get what they want involves a lot of patient listening and though at the time it can be confusing and long winded it really pays off to take the time necessary to understand their perspective.

Looking forward to your 7 day training.
