How to Rise Above The Noise and Bring More Traffic to Your Blog

by Mavis Nong on February 18, 2011

How to Rise Above The Noise and Bring More Traffic to Your BlogBlog traffic – I can never stop writing about this topic. Why? Every blog needs traffic targeted traffic to grow and make money.

In my previous post, I shared why you should stay away from traffic sources like traffic exchange sites if you want targeted visitors who will convert.

Here’s the thing, there are soooo many blogs today – especially in the network marketing industry. New and seasoned marketers alike realise the importance of having a blog for personal branding, relationship building and marketing. Some bloggers even run multiple blogs for different niches.

So, how do you rise above the noise, get noticed and drive massive amount of traffic to your blog? How do you get people to follow your blog out of the thousands out there?

Well, there are many effective ways that you can implement to make this happen, however it all starts with amazing and unique content.

If you thought the design and cool graphics only will make your blog popular, then think again!

Why is Amazing and Unique Content Important?

It’s so true – when your content is like none other, people will be drawn to you like bees to honey. They will leave you nice comments, share your content everywhere, recommend you to their friends and followers and keep coming back to your blog for more.

So, you need to do your research, come up with helpful findings and solutions and set yourself apart. If you choose to write about things that other people have written about before, put your own stamp, over-deliver and stand out from the crowd. People will always remember you for your high standard posts.

One of the great ways to promote your blog is through social media, but…

How Can You Cut Through the Noise on Social Media?

How to Rise Above The Noise and Bring More Traffic to Your BlogAlmost all top brands are now using social media networks to get more traffic, leads, and conversions. Social media offers great “word of mouth” advertising. You can use this to create a buzz on your blog and get even more traffic and fans.

When people like your content, they will share it on the social media sites and help you to put your name and blog out there.

And when people see that your content is being shared massively, they are likely to click on the buttons and share it too.

If you produce average or below average posts, then it would be fair to expect corresponding shares and retweets.

Also, it’s important to make it easier for your readers to share your content by placing the buttons strategically and testing if they actually work.

Doubtlessly, my blog is getting a lot of exposure on Facebook without me spending hours on end there trying to promote it. And that explains why Facebook is my second largest source of traffic. I’m getting free and targeted traffic, what more could a girl ask for?

Wait, it gets even better! Read on…

I am now branding and promoting my blog by using a signature link when I post comments on Facebook. That’s right – just like using a signature link when posting on forums.

You guessed right, the link goes to my blog. And you know what? People like clicking around and this feature is drawing a lot of attention as it’s still new and absolutely cool.

I have been getting a lot of questions about how I add my branded signature and all that…

How to Rise Above The Noise and Bring More Traffic to Your Blog

So, I have decided to spill the beans here…

See, I use an amazing social media tool to manage my Facebook and Twitter accounts and it’s called MarketMeSuite. Among many cool  features, here’s what you can do:

  • You can post to Twitter, Facebook profile and fan pages with one simple click! Harness the power of one-click broadcasting and get a surge of traffic!
  • With location targeting, you can interact with people who are in the same place as you, making the quality of connecting so much higher!
  • You can send tweets and post Facebook updates branded with a link back to your website.

How to Rise Above The Noise and Bring More Traffic to Your Blog

Now, that’s what I call personal branding and backlinking made easy!

There you have it… rise above the noise, get your blog noticed and attract more blog traffic!

I was expecting a higher price, but $5,99/month for MarketMeSuite doesn’t seem that much compared to the benefits you talk about.

You didn’t get any troubles from Facebook using this software?

Too much importance is given to social media i feel. Of course companies need them to promote products. Do individual bloggers need to spend time just submitting links in social networking and bookmarking sites. Many times the retweet count increases and fb share increases but it’s not getting converted into earnings-making-traffic. What u think?

Sure looks like some great tools. And about what you said regarding the content: it’s more important than ever to have good, unique, well-written content on your website. Just take a look at what happened to ezinearticles! :)

Think they lost about 80% of their traffic. The same applies to a lot of other article directories. The un-unique stuff simply drops out of the Google index or loses its value in one way or another. Sucks.

Because the internet is so full of duplicate content, make sure your blog stands out with your own special brand of unique content.

If you know a lot about what you are writing about, it will be easier to come up with new and fresh ideas. Try starting a blog about a topic you are learning about or already know a lot about, or it will be difficult for you to write content for it. By all means search for information on the internet, but never copy it word for word. This is considered plagiarism and it can land you in a lot of trouble.

Most of the popular article directories nowadays have plagiarism checkers and they won’t publish your articles if they are not one hundred percent unique. Because it takes work to come up with unique content, and many marketers like to take short cuts in this regard. The trick is to read as many articles on the subject you would like to write about as you can. The next step would then be to form your own opinions and write new and fresh articles about what you have learnt.

Plagiarism is also the practice of taking other peoples articles and lifting content from different places and joining it together changing one word here or there. It is far better for you to write a new article from scratch, working ideas gained in your head. Make use of the ideas and keywords that most article sites offer you. Some article sites even let you know what other people are searching for and this gives you the opportunity to answer them and in turn gain some readers for your article.

You don’t need to be a professional writer to write articles or even good articles. With a little practice, you should be able to write a good article in less than thirty minutes. The more you write, the easier the words will flow and your imagination will let your writing juices flow. Try it and you will be amazed at how easy it can be. Learning the skill of writing articles will pay you well over the years, as unique content is like gold on the internet. A blog with unique content could end up making you a fortune. Thank you for sharing these tips with us Mavis..

Agreed. There has just been a lot of junk online, people writing useless articles with the endeavour to create thousands of backlinks and grab the top spots on the search results.

Now, Google makes it very clear that it rewards those who work hard to obey their rules and deliver the goods: quality and unique content. It’s only fair, isn’t it?

Once again, thanks for stopping by and for sharing your insights, Mike.
