1. Not Understanding Your Audience
As I mentioned earlier, Facebook now has some 8o0 million users. Understanding your audience is so important because if you don’t get this right then who you are going to target?
Targeting the wrong audience will make you fail miserably in generating targeted Facebook traffic and making money.
What is more, I think that targeting and understanding your audience are linked to each other. So think about your audience and who they are.
Is your audience females or males? Maybe both? Their age and interests? Write everything down so you don’t miss anything out.
2.Not Using Facebook Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising
Facebook is now biggest and first social platform to use Pay-Per-Click (PPC) ads – an online marketing dream! Everyone and their grandma are on Facebook.
Why is Facebook PPC much better than Google Adwords?
Google Adwords has far more advertisers than what Facebook has, the market within it has been saturated to a level where the costs for PPC clicks are really high.

Apart from that, with a Facebook PPC campaign, you are able to target your ads demographically with more accuracy, as they are more exact, and directly down to the person.

3. Not Having a Facebook Fan Page
A LOT of marketers still don’t have a fan page, which takes just a few minutes to set up.
Facebook pages are so powerful as they offer free word of mouth advertising.
Even big companies are using these pages to promote their brand and stay connected to their customers. They send their customers to their fan pages – the new world of advertising!

You can create an event or your page to promote a sale, limited time only offer or a special event.
This is a very effective way to get your business activities in front of your audience, because you can target people who are already connected to you or your business on Facebook. As they are already connected with you on Facebook, you already know that they’re interested in they type of products and services that you offer.
If done properly, using Facebook events can be a great way to add to your other marketing activities.
