Ask Mavis – Did You Also Get Off the CommentLuv Express Train?

by Mavis Nong on July 26, 2011

Ask Mavis Did You Also Get Off the CommentLuv Express Train?Welcome to another round of Ask Mavis!

Last week I showed you how to make it easy for your readers to retweet your content, using a cool plugin.

Have you installed it on your blog already? If not, check out my article on this right here:

How Do You Make it Easy For Your Readers to Retweet Your Content?

So, this week I wanted to talk about a WordPress plugin that you can use to increase comments on your blog. It’s called CommentLuv.

This is the plugin that includes the commenters’ last blog post link at the end of their comments when they submit their comments, giving them great exposure. This is an “incentive” that encourages your readers to leave you comments.

Not using CommentLuv and still wondering why you’re not getting a lot of comments?

See why thousands upon thousands of bloggers choose CommentLuv over any other commenting system out there:

This plugin gets even better!

With the new version, you’re now able to give your readers the opportunity to choose a link they want displayed from their last 10 posts.

You can also decide on who can have this generous choice and get dofollow links:

  • Only registered members
  • Everybody
  • Nobody

For your readers’ convenience, there’s an option to allow them to register on your blog so that they can have their 10 most recent posts to choose from.

The good news is that, there is a premium version of CommentLuv coming that will have much more control of how the plugin works as well as exclusive features like keyword name, inline registration and much much more!

You just need to sign up in the plugin settings in your admin area.

All good so far, right?

Now, here’s something that I have observed recently…

Some Bloggers Got Off the CommentLuv Express!

Since the upgrade to the new version, I have noticed that some bloggers got off the CommentLuv express, without even knowing it! How?

CommentLuv is not activated by default when you upgrade to the new version. So, you have to configure the settings for it to work. Very easy to do. There are short videos in there to help you every step of the way Ask Mavis Did You Also Get Off the CommentLuv Express Train?

Be on the look out for CommentLuv 3.0 Premium coming soon!

CommentLuv Plugin Key Takeaway

If you want to encourage and reward commenters on your blog, then you need to install the CommentLuv plugin.

And, to make sure it works perfectly, configure the settings and join the community!

Your Turn:

  • Are you using CommentLuv on your blog?
  • Did you upgrade to the new version of CommentLuv?
  • Did you configure the settings?

HI Mavis, I got off the Comment Luv train without realizing it… funnily I realized last night and re-configured it. It was almost like we were thinking about the same thing at the same time!

Thanks so much in any event. I am feeling pretty crumby right now that my lovely peeps have been leaving me comments and I have not been returning the ‘luv’ :-(

I have not yet registered for the premium version for when it comes out, but I will do that tonight.

Lovely to see you Mavis. or should that be ‘Luv’ly” !! :-)

I think that ComLuv is the best plugin a blog could have. I advise everyone who hasn’t yet used it to do it quickly. Most people think that the commentator is the only one who benefits from it and that’s why they don’t install it on their blogs. I believe that this plugin can serve a blog owner as much as it serves a blog commentator. Thanks Mavis

CommentLuv is a brilliant plugin and a must for any blogger wanting to cultivate more interaction and dialogue on their blog.

Sometimes I like to just surf cool headlines through the CommentLuv links people leave on ComLuv blogs, it’s a great way to find new blogs…

Andy’s done a brilliant job and it will be great to see the premium version in all it’s full and resplendent glory!

Good idea to bring the obsoletion (is that a word? it is now!) of the old plugin to the attention of your readers Mavis. Thanks!

Hi Mavis,
I actually discovered a trick with comment luv, that lets you select even older posts than your last 10 posts. You just need to use a plugin that stickies an older post to the front page as the featured post.

Another tip: To find other blogs using comment luv use the google search “inurl: + “commentluv enabled”

Commentluv is a great plug in wherein both the blogger and the commentator gets a somewhat a give and take relationship. It allows the poster to have his/her recent blog post letting other people to know and have the option to follow depending on the viewer to see that the one commented is quite intriguing or interesting person. It does honor one to get traffic as well.
Happy Blogging!
:)

While others got off the Commentluv train, I just boarded–just this week. :D Free tickets, too. Still saving up for Premium tickets. But, to be candid about it, I’m not on the Commentluv train for the self-serving backlinking stuff. I just want my readers to get rewards for dropping in on my site and leaving useful comments. That reward is exposure through links to their own sites. It’s a good system that promotes give and take.
