How To Make 2010 Your Best Year Ever!

The new year has arrived - a clean slate and a new start… This is an opportunity for many people to step back from their businesses and take a good look at what is working, what is not working and where do they want to go. So, are you ready to make 2010 your breakout year ever and explode your bank account?

I’m going to share with you the strategies and a roadmap to use for setting your goals and creating your vision. I learned these on a training call with one of my personal mentors, Norbert Orlewicz, a true leader, coach, visionary and a very successful network marketer. These strategies work as Norbert used them to build his 7-figure business in just a couple of years, after struggling in network marketing for 6 years!

A fact is, success doesn’t happen by accident and you can’t simply sit back and wish for it to happen. I often hear aspiring network marketers say: “I hope this works for me”. The truth is, it probably wont, because if you’re hoping something will work for you, you’re leaving it up to some chance or “magic” to become successful. Unfortunately that’s not going to happen :-(

Setting goals is the key to your success. Period. And there is a lot more that goes into achieving your goals than just writing them on a piece of paper.

Here are the strategies:

1. Creating A Vision In 2010

This is more than just setting your goals and it’s very important as it will determine your success. You need to get connected to your ‘WHY’ and keep reminding yourself WHY you are doing what you’re doing. This is your vision, misson and driving force. If your ‘WHY’ is big enough, then you’ll figure out the ‘HOW’.

In network marketing, just like in any other industry, you’ll encounter obstacles and challenges and you would have to embrace that if you want to be successful. So, if your WHY is not big enough, then you’ll feel sorry for yourself, crumble and go back to your comfort zone. “Don’t wish it was easier, wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems, wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges, wish for more wisdom” ~ Jim Rohn

2. Begin With Where You’re At

This is when you review and reflect on the previous year to see what has worked, what didn’t, what were your successes, failures, good and bad decisions. It’s very important that you do this and think about how you can improve.

You also need to begin in gratitude. And this can be a challenge if things are not going well in your business – you may be frustrated, stressed and desperate to see your desired results. So, when you’re setting your goals in that state, you’re in a place of need and desperation. And that’s not a great place to be in if you want to create abundance. You must practice living in abundance. You have to decide in your mind that you’re successful and do the things that successful people do.

3. Design Your Life

Goal-setting is important for every aspect of your life, not only for your business – relationships, family, emotional, mental, physical, spiritual, career and financial. So, you need to set goals and create a vision for your entire life. Think about the things that you want to achieve in life and focus on them. In my experience, they will be on your mind all the time. The key to having success in your life and in your business, is to know exactly what you want and stick to it. Many people try different opportunities, ideas and systems and quit when things don’t work out.

4. Work On Yourself

Most people work on their goals and successful people work on themselves. You see a goal is an effect and the cause is YOU. The issue is not your debts, your marriage, your business and so on, the issue is YOU. You must work harder on YOURSELF through personal development, than on your business. Ask yourself: “What do I have to BECOME to achieve my goals?” So, you need to focus on improving yourself, your attitude and skills and everything else in your life will improve.

5. Visualisation

Do you visualise the things that you want in life? Make this a part of your life, create images of what you want to achieve and think about them all the time. Begin to act as if you already have what you want. Start acting like you’re already successful, then your daily activities will show that you are.

6. Take Massive Action

For every goal that you have set, you need to have clear action steps with deadlines. You need to implement right away, build a momentum and have a sense of urgency in what you do. Do you have the burning desire to succeed? “If you greatly desire something, have the guts to stake everything on obtaining it”. ~ Brendan Francis

These strategies will change your life and business in ways you could never imagine!

Pillars Of Success – Develop Your Inner Game Plan

Do you sometimes feel that things are not going your way and success is taking a lot of time to come your way? It’s important that you keep reminding yourself why you started your business in the first place – get connected to your WHY and goals!

Yes, success doesn’t come overnight. It takes an all-0ut massive and aggressive ACTION, consistency and patience. Success is a progressive realisation of your goals. You need to develop your inner game – the fundamental pillars for your success which will have a profound effect on your outer game – building your business.

I have just finished reading a tiny but very inspirational book, Twelve Pillars by Jim Rohn and Chris Widener. These Pillars are the foundation upon which you can build your current and future success and achievement.

Turn the following lessons into ACTION and design your life based on them:

1.  “The only way things are going to change for YOU is when YOU change.” This is about your personal development. Success comes when you develop yourself beyond where you currently are. You have to work harder on yourself, improving yourself, than you do on your business. You are the business! People are looking for leaders and mentors. The harder you work on yourself, the more you attain value by learning more skills, the more your business will grow.

2.  “Make sure that the outside of you is a good reflection of the inside of you.”  This relates to the total well-being in the body, the soul and the spirituality. Get into a physical routine and read spiritual literature. If you get these areas right, they will each get stronger.

3.  “Time, effort and imagination must be summoned constantly to keep any relationship flourishing and growing.” Make the most of the gift of relationships – they hold everything together. Spend quality time with your family and friends and that’s the only way to build relationships.

4.  Achieve your goals! “The main reason for setting a goal is for what it makes of you to accomplish it.” What are your goals? Decide what you want to become and get started.

5.  Time management. Spend your time wisely on the activities that are aligned with your overall goals. Be the master of time and design your life. Plan your attack and attack your plan – have a daily planner!

6.  Surround yourself with the right people. “Go where the expectations and the demands to perform are high”, then you’ll grow. Successful people look for relationships with other successful people who will push, challenge and encourage them to become better.

7.  Be a life long learner! “Formal education will make you a living. Self-education will make you a fortune.” Teach yourself so that you’re constantly improving and growing. Your skills determine your value and your income. Learn and take massive ACTION!

8.  All of life is sales! Influence is the key to a successful life. Anyone who wants to succeed must learn the art and skill of influencing others. Have others perceive you as a leader and the expert.

9.  “What you become directly influences what you get.” Income seldom exceeds personal development. If you want to make million dollars, you better grow personally to the point where you are a million dollar person. Mindset is EVERYTHING.

10.  “Communication is two or more people working together to find the common ground of understanding.” Since success is based on human relationships, communication is extremely important as it’s the foundation for people working together. Learn to listen too!

11.  Become a leader! “To lead others is to help them change their thoughts, beliefs and actions for the better.” Leaders help people see themselves better than they are. They take the steps to help the people towards what they want to become.

12.  Leave a legacy! “Live a life that serves as an example of what an exceptional life can look like.” Design a life based on the Pillars of Success, with the goal of leaving a legacy for others to follow.

No matter whether you have been in the business for two weeks or two years, it’s important to follow these Pillars of Success and reinforce them for yourself and your team. If you get them right, you’ll definitely get your outer game right. And they will change your life and business in ways you could never imagine!

What Are Your Goals? Goal-Setting For Serious Entrepreneurs

It’s not long before the end of this year… Where has this year gone really?                                      What are your goals for the next 90 days? Have you successfully achieved your goals over the past few months?

There is a problem with regard to goal-setting. Some people don’t set goals and others fail to follow through their goals. A fact is, very few people successfully achieve their goals. Goal setting done properly can be very powerful and done incorrectly can set you up for failure and leave you feeling worthless.

Dream BIG dreams but realise that short-term, realistic goals are the keys to success.

I have recently changed my goals time frame to WEEKLY rather than monthly. Why? All the Top Producers in the industry set WEEKLY goals. They are different to the yearly goals as they are more manageable and easily attainable. And as you achieve your goals every week, you gain self-confidence and look forward to meeting the following week’s goals.

If you DON’T meet your weekly goals, it would be easier to back track and establish where you have gone wrong and adjust your course of action in order to achieve the desired results. You certainly won’t have to wait for months or a year to do that.

Another strategy is to work things in reverse. For example, how many product sales or sign ups would it take for you to make say, $10,000 after 90 days? Map out your weekly goals, create a specific plan to achieve that and stick to it.

You should also continue to work on yourself and your mindset as mindset in goal-setting is EVERYTHING. Learn how to market, generate more and more targeted, quality traffic for your business and remain committed to becoming a great leader for your organisation.

What Does It Take To Become A Leader?

Since I joined my primary business, I have had the opportunity to learn more about leadership. It’s not really different to what I was taught and had experienced in the Corporate world. Good leaders are easy to identify since their qualities stand out and cut above the rest.

I am now learning from the Top Producers in the network marketing industry and what grabbed hold of me is that they all have one thing in common – yes, they are all rich however they follow the same leadership principles. I find this very important because it’s critical to the long-term success for any serious network marketer in this industry.

The truth is, the more you follow the same principles as the Top Producers, the closer you are to becoming a successful leader. Let’s face it – people follow leaders, not companies. It’s NOT about your company, your fantastic products or your amazing compensation plan. It’s about YOU – how you serve and help others to get what they want. This is how you’ll succeed in this industry.

Here are the 5 major things successful leaders do. As you go through them, do a personal assessment and see how you’re doing:

  1. Goal-setting gives leaders a great start on their way to building a successful business. They set daily, weekly and monthly goals and hold themselves accountable to this. Leaders have a ‘To-Do-List’ and are disciplined to complete their daily tasks. They also have a clear vision of what they want their businesses to become and take specific action steps towards achieving their goals.
  2. Income producing activities are the primary focus for the leaders. They prioritise their activities in terms of importance and urgency. They outsource or delegate less important activities. Most of their time is spent on lead generation, connecting with the new prospects and coaching their teams. These are the activities that build their empires!
  3. Personal development helps leaders to remain self-motivated and driven. Leaders are always striving to improve themselves in any way through knowledge – they never stop learning, no matter how rich they are! They listen to motivational CD’s, read personal development books and watch inspirational videos. The lessons they learn become part of them because they implement and take ACTION. Leaders also have a physical fitness routine because physical fitness begets mental toughness.
  4. Master minding with the other leaders exposes leaders to positive stimuli to avoid the negative influences and to get inspired. They hang around like-minded people who inspire them and act like them. Leaders avoid people who don’t support them and don’t let the negative comments affect them. They take note of the saying – ‘Misery loves company!’
  5. Leading by example helps leaders to brand and position themselves as such. They take charge! They always cultivate leadership qualities and instill them in their teams so they can succeed in their businesses as well. Leaders take calculated risks to become even more successful. They are also able to seize opportunities that others may not even see.

Personal Development: Invest in Yourself

 In order to achieve your financial and personal goals, you must constantly improve yourself. Without personal development, it may be almost impossible to reach your goals. A great way to do this is by reading or listening to personal development material that can motivate you to be a successful person.

If you do this, you will eventually have the mindset that you will be successful. Soon enough you will start acting like successful people and start maximising your potential. Interestingly, it would appear that every book I have read recently on success, never fails to mention Network Marketing! E.g. “We Want You To Be Rich” by Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki, has a great section on network marketing. A great read - Enjoy!

How Much Does Mindset Really Matter?

In order for your business to prosper, you must prosper both mentally and physically. You are not able to run your business if you’re physically ill and you can’t give your business all that it needs if you’re mentally negative. If you constantly think and hope for a mediocre business, then you’re likely to get that or less.

If you treat your home business like a business, it will make you money and if you treat your home business like a hobby, it will cost you money! Even if success doesn’t come to you in the manner in which you expect, your positive attitude can help you to put more faith in your business and new opportunities will present themselves.

Plan carefully, be patient, remain positive through everything and you will become a success!
