Actually… As a professional marketer I see a real weakness here. A primary key to attraction marketing is “Affinity”. This means keeping visitors coming back and your statistics tell a very different story. A popular blog should have unique visitors to total visitors ratio of 1/10 and with the size of traffic you are showing you should have more like a ratio of 1/20 or more… but your stats show that your ratio is only 1/3… this is not a good statistic and it tells me you are just desperately spamming to build traffic without properly targeting a niche.
The second issue is the ratio between page views and total visitors. Your ratio here shows a 3/1, meaning that for every visitor the average page view is 3. Once again, this is not a good ratio and a good blog would have a far greater page view to visitor ratio.
As far as Alexa ranking… any professional marketer will tell you that Alexa ranking has no bearing anymore on anything and no matter the ranking it does not reflect a metric of any value. A website/blog can have an Alexa ranking of 0 or 50,000 and it means nothing. All it is telling you is that the visitors to the website/blog have the Alexa toolbar loaded in their browser.
Concerning the Google ranking of 4/10… this is deceptive. Is this the true ranking or the toolbar ranking… these are two different things and the bottom line of any goggle ranking starts at 5 so this shows me that it’s not ranking very well and it doesn’t tell me if it’s the toolbar ranking or the actual Google ranking.
Voted the number 2 blog… by whom? Who voted your blog number 2; you, the MLM industry or the blogging industry? This is a very deceptive statement! It’s easy for people to make claims but until you put it into context and perspective… it really means nothing!
You also talk about back-linking but did you know that 10 quality backlinks produce more results than 10,000 backlinks? One bad backlink and your Google rank drops. Too often MLM bloggers are tricked into buying into programs that offer massive back-linking programs without understanding that this is a bad thing. It’s the quality of the links and not the number that Google looks at. This tells me that you are not a professional marketer and are not concerned about your members or down-line.
Another thing that concerns me is that Mavis has been spamming all the boards and online outlets targeting people in the MLM industry. I am curious if she is actually writing her content or using those article marketing programs that regurgitate the same ole articles across thousands of different MLM blogger sites. Mavis has spammed my boards many times and every time I have sent her a message… she never responded. She felt that she was important enough to post on my board yet didn’t even have the courtesy to respond to my message about her spamming.
She is trying to lead people into believing that if they post on her blog or buy into here affiliate marketing programs that you will succeed… well, you will… you will succeed in doing what every inexperienced network marketer does and preach to the choir and never really learn how to tap into niche markets and develop a real reputation or differentiation in the market place.
Attraction Marketing is about building a long term reputation and is not about generating lots of traffic! Lots of traffic means lots of visitors that don’t convert and the goal in this industry is to convert. I don’t believe in Mavis’s tactics or have any faith in her as a leader who is out to help anyone but herself.
Anyway… it’s up to you the followers to make that choice for yourself.

One bad backlink and your rank drops? What nonsense!
If this was remotely true, I’d spam the heck out of my competitors’ sites sending to them a bunch of “bad neighborhood” links to get them in trouble with Google!
What you said about Google PR makes no sense. Sure there’s such a thing as visible PR and true PR, but unless you are Google, the only viable statistics we can quote is the visible. one.
Sure quality links weigh a lot more than quantity; HOWEVER, in most niches you won’t get too far with 10 quality backlinks.
Finally, making a statement like “I am curious if she is actually writing her content or using those article marketing programs that regurgitate the same ole articles across thousands of different MLM blogger sites. ” doesn’t not reflect very well on you (and neither does the rest of your lengthy comment).
Most of us here have known Mavis for a long time and she is nothing but an example of how to do online business the right way.
What it boils down to is the fact that she left some links to her (very good) content, and you didn’t like it.
You tried to get in touch with her, but she never responded (and I am sure she’s got a good reason for it).
THAT’S the real problem.
And dealing with it by leaving such uncalled-for comments all over just shows what kind of businessman YOU are, not Mavis.
Now if this was my blog, I’d say Get out of here, but I’ll let Mavis decide what she wants to say.

I read your comment to Mavis in full…… After reading it, I figured you have had a high degree of success and know what you are talking about when it comes to blogging and attraction marketing.
So, I decided to take a deeper look into Eric Salmon. What I found was exactly what I expected to find.
An Alexa ranking of 4,644,436 which means, as yet you are not generating your own traffic plus there are no sites linking back to yours. You seem to have a some good knowledge of back linking and what Google looks for so perhaps you should start implementing these actions on your site.
After searching Google for your business and your name I couldn’t find either on page 1 or 2. I then attempted to leave a comment of your website and was taken to an error page.
You are right about attraction Marketing, it is about building relationships. I have known Mavis for over 3 years now, I’ve worked with her, promoted her products and been a guest speaker with her. When you look at all the positive comments here on her website I”m pretty sure you call that the art of Attraction Marketing.
Mavis has gained this reputation by availing her valuable content to all those that are looking for what she has to offer. She has done this by ranking on page one of the search engines for her keywords.
As you can see from this post Mavis responds to everyone, even you so perhaps there was a very good reason she didn’t get back to you…..

I might tell you that for a professional critic about SEO that you seem to be, you may have skipped an important video by Matt Cutts on how Google would never hold it against your site if a bad neighborhood site backlinks to you. Of course the reason for this is so that people who dislike you cannot do a lot of backlinking to your website from those bad neighborhood sites on your behalf.

Hello Mavis,
I saw and read your latest article on the Better Networker site, as I most always do. I found your latest article very interesting, about how to handle negative and rude blog comments.
As you said, not everyone is going to agree with you nor like what you write or say, and further more they are entitled to their own opinions.
After reading Eric’s comments, I commend you on your professionalism in handling and replying back to his comment.
I remember last year, I was reading a post by marketer David Wood on his blog. Actually David had put a video on his blog of a speaker at some conference David and other marketers had attended.
Now, while it was a little hard to understand what the speaker was saying, because he spoke quite fast, you could make sense of it, and, it, the video, had some great tips on how to be successful in life.
Most of the comments people left on David’s blog from that post were very positive, but, there was one guy who kinda lit into David Wood, knocking, “GURU’s,” or as he said, you guru types.
I thought David Wood handled it on a very professional level, he simply replied, to the effect, sir, you need to check yourself and get your negativity under control, else, you will never experience success in your life.
Also, the day singer Teddy Pendergrass passed away, I went to you tube, where someone had put up a tribute to him.
I simply left a comment saying how blessed the world was that God allowed us to have been touched by Teddy’s gift.
Someone replied to my comment with some negativity. At first I got offended and wanted to fire back at them, but I instead, just said a prayer for them.
Thanks for being the Bigger Person and responding to Eric’s comment in the professional way you did, and, for showing us other marketer’s how we too can be the better in our marketing and relating with and other people online, or offline for that matter.
