If you are like me, web traffic is a big part of your online business.
Tracking results and checking the latest campaign are a huge part of your daily routine.
It can seem like getting to that coveted 1,000 visitors/day mark is a long and hard road, made even longer when you really don’t know what to do to get to that point.
What you need are some good, solid strategies to get your blog in front of new readers – exploding your traffic and building up your audience at the same time…
Below are 17 strategies that will load your blog with visitors.
But first, here is a screen shot from a site that I work on, doing these exact same techniques:
And you can have amazing traffic like that too…
Let’s get started with the top 17 strategies for traffic explosion:
1. High-quality content. You can’t build a good, targeted audience without quality content. Everything on your site needs to be value packed. Your blog posts, individual pages, articles you write, videos you make, even the comments you write. Quality is king!
2. Syndicate your content. Publishing on your blog is a great first step, but don’t stop there. Put your blog posts to work for you. Submit them to article directories like ezinearticles.com and ideamarketers.com – get the most out of your prized blog posts. Submit them 1 – 2 days after you post them on your blog – make sure they are indexed on your site first before you send them elsewhere.
3. Turn them into short reports. This is a great strategy to again, repurpose your posts or articles – Take a blog post and make a nice cover sheet for it – save it as a PDF. Then take that document and head over to Scribd.com – a document sharing site – and submit it there. Easy way to spread your content over the web. Some others are Yudu.com, Issuu.com and Docstoc.com.
4. Spread the word on Facebook. At any given time, there are millions of users on Facebook – make a fan page and start talking with your fans – they will be receptive to you if you give them value first.
5. Use Twitter. Same idea here as Facebook – Retweet others tweets, follow those who follow you and follow other people in your niche. Add value to the Twitter stream and you will get the kind of targeted traffic you are looking for.
6. Google+. Google+ is rapidly growing in popularity. Taking it to the next level in your business requires active participation in this community, as well as other social networks.

7. Get on LinkedIn. LinkedIn has about 130 million users and is growing by leaps and bounds. LinkedIn is a place for connections, much like Twitter and Facebook. However, it is based on the premise of connecting for professionals. Combined with Twitter, Facebook and Google+ and you have a lucrative social networking arsenal.
8. Submit to Blokube.com. Blokube.com is a bloggers’ community where you can submit your blog posts to be read and voted on by other members of the Blokube community. Submit to them as you would any other social media hub – traffic flows to your blog when you vote on other’s blog posts and leave thoughtful comments.
9. Submit to Bloggersbase.com. Bloggersbase.com is another community where you can submit your blog posts for instant exposure. Again, wait for your content to be indexed on your own blog first before submitting to Bloggersbase.com
10. Guest blogging. The idea with guest blogging is that you are offering your service to the host blog and in return they get a fresh voice coming in to their blog. There are many protocols to adhere to when guest posting for someone, but if you abide by their guidelines the resulting traffic can be mind boggling! Guest posting a few times a week will easily increase website traffic by the thousands.
11. Build a blogging alliance. It’s tough to work alone – don’t just interact with friends on Facebook, form an alliance where you strategically help each other out with your blogs – retweeting, commenting, join or form a Facebook group – all of these activities will help you and your alliance drive traffic to each other’s blogs.
12. Get active on a forum. Notice I only said “a forum” – start out with just one and then progress to others. Otherwise what will happen is that you spread yourself thin across all these different forums and none of them are doing you any good. But if you pick and focus on one, you will be able to get to know the community better and contribute more.
13. Comment on other blogs. Give first, then receive are some words to live by, and it certainly rings true with blog commenting – this has the potential to bring in extremely targeted visitors to your blog. Make your comments insightful however – “great post” is not enough. Make an articulate comment about the post or someone else’s comment and visitors will check out your blog as well.
14. Start an email list. This is absolutely vital to your online business. Develop a 2-way relationship with your list of subscribers and you have a build in audience for every blog post you write!
15. Paid advertising. Paid advertising is a sure-fire way to get upwards of more than 1,000 visitors a day to your blog. But, proceed with caution, you can also lose a great deal of money very quickly. PPC, banner ads, solo ads, ads spots on blogs – these are just a few paid advertising opportunities available online.
16. Submit your blog to Alltop.com. Alltop.com is a content aggregator site. Basically, this site takes the leading content from around the web and publishes it on their site. Submission is easy – make sure you have your blog feed set up as that it how they access your updated content.
17. Send a thank you. Not enough can be said about the value of saying thank you to someone. It does not get said enough. An email, an actual note or a PM – you never know the impact it may have on that person. And you may develop a reader/customer for life.
Key Takeaway
There you have it – 17 amazing strategies to get you to 1,000 visitors a day.
One final note – Did you notice a pattern in all of these tips?
In every strategy, you have to give value and quality first. Be a relationship marketer and you will not only get new visitors, but return readers.

These are some really awesome tips Christine. The part about syndicating content.. That’s so true. I’m also thinking that it would be a good idea to write a unique post that is made ot promote the blog post and send them to artcile directories. The more places we submit to, the more visibility we will have. That scribd tip is great. Thanks!
All the best,
Hi Peter,

I have a website that I launched about 2 years ago and am really having a touch time getting 1000 unique visitors a day. Right now, I have 500 uniques and about 10,000 page views. I do pay for adwords which is about $300.00 and also paying for SEO. The SEO team has created pages of the site on social sites but just at a loss on how ot reach 1000 uniques a day. I know that once I hit this magic number my site will explode because I will invest more in adwords.
Hi Robert,
Social media brings me a ton of visitors a day to my blog.
You also mentioned you use paid advertising – is that something you could scale up, change keywords, ad copy, etc. to possibly bring in more visitors?
I’m no expert, just a thinker…
