3 Surefire Ways to Achieve Success in Your Business at a HIGH Speed

3 Surefire Ways to Achieve Success in Your Business at a HIGH SpeedI recently shared my lead conversion tips

And, one of them was connecting with my new subscribers on a personal level, as soon as they opt in.

I hope you’re already doing this too.

So, I always offer to help them and ask them what they’re currently focusing on in their businesses.

They usually tell me what they are doing and some mention that they have been following me for a while or they like my blog and so on.

Now, there’s one popular question that I get from my new followers: “how did you start out and how did you become so successful?”.

Maybe you have been wondering too…

So, I have decided to spill the beans and share what really got me to where I am today.

Here’s the short version of my story:

When I got started online, I had no internet marketing experience at all (nada, zero, zilch!) - I only used the internet for e-mails and browsing.

As I saw the incredible power of the internet, I was determined to do everything humanely possible to achieve success online, FAST! I realised that online marketing would rescue my drowning business.

However, I just didn’t know where to start, like most people right now. There was so much information on making money online. Not to mention countless offers.

So…

1. I Found the Right Mentor

I stumbled upon a video by a marketer who seemed to know what she was talking about. She related her experience with marketing her business offline, which was just similar to mine.

She caught my attention when she shared how she had turned that around and how she could help “me” do the same.

I thought to myself: “Here’s someone who has the knowledge, experience and ability to help me in my business”. I then decided to follow her with confidence as she had a proven track-record of success.

I have been following my first online mentor to this day and I have since found new mentors to help me in the other aspects of my business such as blogging and product creation.

Here’s the thing, having a mentor plays a HUGE role in your business and life. If you’re really serious about taking your business to the next levels of success at a high speed, then you need to find a mentor.

I’m talking about someone who will be supportive, stretch and challenge you and hold you to account and accelerate your personal growth far beyond what you could achieve on your own.

With the right mentor, the sky is the limit! I have witnessed this myself.

I went from a struggling marketer to becoming a blogging expert (#2 MLM blogger), dominating search engines, creating and selling my own products, growing an international team and more.

I couldn’t have done it without my mentors. I couldn’t have done it without their mentoring. And neither can you - you can’t succeed in this industry without a good mentor behind you.

So, where can you find the right mentor, right now? Where do you even start?

Find someone who is already at the level that you want to be yourself and follow them. Reach out to them and do what you need to do to work with them.

You need someone who can point you in the right direction when you’re lost. Just like my mentors did and still do with me.

You do NOT need someone who’s going to hold your hand and walk you through every step of the process – that would hinder your personal growth, not help it – but rather someone who’ll encourage and inspire you to take action on your own.

That is, someone who’s “been there, done that” and who’s able to see the whole picture and help you to get what you want.

Every successful person out there, has or had a mentor to learn from and help them get to where they are today – very powerful!

Now, if you’re looking for a mentor right now, then you’re at the right place…

I want to believe that by now you should “know” who I am and what I stand for, if you have been following me and visiting my blog regularly.

Moving on…

What else did I do?

2. I Plugged Into a Marketing Training Platform

As I didn’t have any online marketing experience at all, I had to get the right marketing training to cut my learning curve in half and create success in no time.

So, I put the pedal to the metal, so to speak. I became a student and followed the cutting-edge marketing and mindset training. Most importantly, I implemented the new skills I was acquiring, in my own business.

In no time, I started seeing great results, generating leads, getting sign-ups, making sales and grabbing top spots in the search engines on certain keywords!

I started having FUN building my business, rather than trying to convince people to join or buy from me. This platform has helped me to not only build a successful business and make money online, but to help others around the world to do the same.

So, if you want to learn from the best of the best in marketing and create success quickly, then you need to plug into a training platform. There is no other way around it.

And, here’s a comment left by my newest team member:

3 Surefire Ways to Achieve Success in Your Business at a HIGH Speed

Wait! There’s something else…

3. Hanging Out With Like-Minded People

I always hang out with like-minded people. It’s SO true that you are who you hang out with!

You need to find and interact with like-minded and success-driven people who have similar interests, goals and aspirations as yours.

3 Surefire Ways to Achieve Success in Your Business at a HIGH Speed

If you’re serious about becoming successful, the fastest way to get there is to spend your time with other successful people. Why?

They talk about ideas and focus on the possibilities. They talk about taking actions on their dreams, and they do it!

Would you ask a broke person for advice on how to make money? Probably not. You’d want to ask someone who HAS the results that you are after, right?

It doesn’t matter how intelligent you think you are, you still need to mastermind with others.

Here’s how I do it:

1. I mastermind with two very good friends on Skype on a regular basis. We bring different skills and strengths to the table so we can help and inspire each other to reach our goals. We have an amazing strategic alliance. When we feel low, we talk to each other, rather than sitting in a corner, feeling sorry for ourselves.

2. I participate in a couple of private Facebook groups where we help each other to reach our goals and achieve success in our businesses. We also invite our teams to join in the FUN too!

And, one of the groups is Diane Hochman’s (the queen of Attraction Marketing, with over 12 years experience). Can you imagine having a marketing expert at your fingertips on a DAILY basis, at no cost to you? It’s rare gem.

3. I attend live events, so should you. If you don’t stay on top of your game, then your ideal prospects will find someone else who does. Get informed on the latest marketing trends and propel your business to the new levels. You need to keep sharpening your axe!

Not only that… These marketing events offer a great opportunity to rub shoulders with self-made millionaires, expert marketers, and well-known industry leaders.

Speaking of the events, I’ll be hanging out with the BEST of the BEST marketers in April this year at the UK Internet MLM Summit. You need to be there, if you’re serious about taking your business to a whole new level of success in 2012 and beyond.

Heads up: only a few VIP tickets remaining to hang out with the industry leaders. Be sure to get yours today!

Key Takeaway

There you have it. I attribute a great deal of my success to finding the right mentors, plugging into a training platform, implementing new skills in my business and hanging out with like-minded people.

These steps are crucial to your success. Like it or not, you CANNOT do it all alone. If you think you can, then you’re misleading yourself.

Your Turn

  • Who is your mentor?
  • What are you going to do to create success in your business, starting today?
  • What do you need help with in your business?

Let me know in the comments section below. I look forward to being a part of your success in 2012! 3 Surefire Ways to Achieve Success in Your Business at a HIGH Speed

Hello Mavis,

Great post. You are definitely correct in all aspects of this article. If I were to start all over again, I would choose and follow someone who has the results that I am looking for and reach out to them. Then I would submit and enroll myself to an online marketing training platform to educate myself about Internet marketing and personal development. And last I would connect and interact with like minded entrepreneurs and definitely not with the whiners. Thanks again Mavis.

Hi Mavis, Great info as always. Everyone who wants to succeed need a mentor and a training system. To try and go it along would be foolish. The next step is what I believe is keeping people from succeeding which utilizing your mentor and following the guidelines in the training platform. There are so many distractions in the online marketing marketing business and it is very important to stick with one system in order to build a successful business. Commitment, Persrverance , and Vigilance and following success stories like you are to key to the beginning of your success.

Hey Mavis,

I’ve always inherently known the value of a mentor or coach, but it wasn’t until recently that I found the right one. I think one has to be a bit careful in assuming your sponsor will be a good mentor. Sometimes that works. Other times, it doesn’t and it’s usually because either the person is too inexperienced or they let their bias seep through — after all, they stand to benefit from many of the products or upsells that they suggest in many cases.

Strong words, maybe but it’s true. At least in my experience. I’ve found that having a coach or mentor OUTSIDE my primary business works best for me. I do best knowing that my mentor has nothing to gain financially by my choices, other than what I pay them to coach or mentor me.

Thanks for your post — very timely.

You’re welcome, Bob. Very true, having a sponsor doesn’t mean that you have found yourself the right mentor. It does work at times, but it’s not always the case.

Great to hear that you’re having a good experience with your mentor.

Hi, Mavis,

I congratulate you on your achievement and generosity. I agree with Karla that there are so many distraction online. We need leaders like you to guide us. I cannot agree more about the importance of a mastermind group. I only learned about you through Tosin Adeoti’s recommendation. I have since then been following your posts too.

I would say this post can help a lot of people to get clear on WHAT they want to accomplish online. When I first jumped online in October 2010, I was overwhelmed! After spending much time and energy, I have eventually found a great marketing system (MLSP). From there, I have discovered my referred way of marketing online (also blogging). It took me about one year to eventually settled at this stage.
I can see how important it is to have a great mentor right at the beginning of my exploration.

I am thankful for my business mentor John Moussan has assisted me in a number of ways to get my blog operating :) I am not lost any more. All I need to do is to implement what I have learned, one strategy after another.

There is only a tiny little part that I do not totally agree with you. It is about “holding hands”. I got stuck in so many very trivial places. I simply cannot say enough to stress the role played by a mentor like John who has provided me with personalized coaching lessons and guided me through the absolute confusion that I faced (relating to technical issues). For example, I did not even know how to post a video in my blog. I did not know how to integrate MLSP and Aweber. I do not know the plugins that I should be using….I am glad that I have a mentor who can hold my hands.

My conclusion? A GREAT MENTOR !

Great journey Mavis. In fact my mentor was my own uncle (like a Rich Dad for me) who’d one quote changed the course of my business life. He said – “You are who you associate with – and who you’ll be 5 years from now is who you spend most of your time with”.

Ever since I have been following the exact principles that you’ve chalked out here, which has personally helped me tremendously. It’s not a surprise that your blog is at #2, with such great content being rolled out every week. I’ll keep coming back. Cheers – Sidz

A agree with everyone’s statements. I had someone email me the other day because he had spent over $1500 on a mentoring program, and the mentor didn’t help at all. Make sure the people you hire can deliver before shelling out any money. Don’t always trust sales copy. its made to convince you to buy and will only focus on the benefits of their program, not the down sides.

That being said, having a mentor that you can talk to really is beneficial. Althouugh my mentor isn’t involved in online marketing much it is actually quite beneficial having his advice. I take his experiences with offline business marketing and figure out how to best apply it to my online business. The great part is that my mentor doesn’t have any affiliate agenda behind what he recommends that I do.

Having a mentor in your side really helps you grow fast. That’s the thing that I failed to do. I don’t have mentors and I am just relying on research which eat up much of my time and at the end of the day, I have almost done nothing but wondering what to do.

I also wanted to undergo web-based training, but I was hesitating because the fee is just too high for me. Well, they’re affordable to those who have the money, but for me, they’re simply too expensive.

And the result is: I am still struggling to reach even my simplest target.

I like your idea of relying on mentors and basically people who know things better than you. It’s a breath of fresh air when everybody is trying to sell you quick and easy tips that just don’t work. In the end, social connections and what you learn from others is gold.

Seems to me it is a tangled two way street.
If I sign someone up in a business, I am obligated to help them get started. Where does that obligation stop? The minute I determine they are either not working or are expecting me to do all the work for them.
This is then complicated by the fact that everyone is different and at different points of education and how good at reading people a mentor is.
This is not an answer to anything; this is just a statement of recognition that there is a reason people who get it right make money and that it is a terribly tangled thing to figure out the best way to help an individual succeed. (because in the end, the only thing you can do is help, you cannot motivate them to do and act.)
…anymore than Moses could get the Children of Israel to do something as simple as look up to the brass serpent in order to be healed…
